How to score (Assessor use)

Most questions use the 3-level knowledge scale. Three practical skills (technique, donning, doffing) are scored Done / Not yet — they are pass-or-fail at the point of care. A companion Assessor Guide (TiNA-AU-Clinical-v3-Assessor-Guide) lists the indicators ("what good looks like") for every question, including the infection-specific PPE breakdown.

1
No KnowledgeNo understanding or awareness. Unable to perform the task. Training required.
2
CompetentConsistent, reliable performance. Applies the knowledge or skill independently in routine situations with appropriate clinical judgement.
3
ProficientDeep understanding and advanced clinical skill. Role model who leads and mentors others in this area.
P
Practical skill — Done / Not yetDirect observation. "Done correctly" = performed to the standard sequence unprompted. "Not yet" = any step missed — counts as a gap and needs correcting before the next unsupervised shift.
